About the book:
“Donnaville”
is a true life account of the rollercoaster ride known as being a foster parent. The book shares a raw view of what it is
like. Sometimes heartbreaking, but always amazing. It is the daily reflecting of managing a crazy household and holding together
a family. A family that at any minute can change.
Why write this book:
- I didn’t write this book for fortune or fame. I started writing
down events as they were happening then going back after time to give these thought feelings and events a new perspective.
- What I found after time was this was an amazing tool!
- It is not meant to be the answers, just about the journey
- It gives a fresh, somewhat raw perspective of what a foster familyis and what faces
all parts of the family.
- It is hard for the children in these families…they have a
first hand look at what has happened to another family and can bring fear. That why it is important to know this before you
become a foster parent
-
What I want my book to accomplish
- What I hope is that after people read the book they have
a better understanding of what foster care is
- I hope that people considering being foster parent read it
before they dive into the journey, not to deter them but to be a window to the future
- I hope that other foster parents read it and feel a sense
of yes, someone else has felt that
- I hope that people who
know nothing about foster care read it and are inspire to reach out to a child in care…as a friend knowing
the pain and trouble that is happening in their life.
- I hope that people read it and understand that foster families…have
heart…but are not perfect….But are putting themselves out there everyday to try to help bring about and promote
change
- I hope that children that have been in foster care read it
…and understand why we are there.
- I hope that children everywhere read it and try to be a friend
to that new kid in need
- Most importantly I PRAY that all read it and realize that no
matter what the situation it is never to big for GOD, trust and obey, it is the only way
